Driving Miss Daisy is an American story, and Alfred Uhry’s script is storytelling at it’s best. Uhry won the 1988 Pulitzer Prize for drama, and for good reason.  It’s a look back in time, and it’s a look in the mirror.  It’s a snapshot of who we were then, and who we could be now.  It’s a story of dignity and friendship. It’s a story about a time (1948-1973) when race, religion, and society were changing.
