I've been tied up, as you probably already know, working on my year end post.

I do hope to meet you next time...do you have a date yet? I think March sometime was the target...

It's a labor of love for me. There are some jobs I wouldn't do no matter how much they paid, and some jobs I'd do no matter how little (or in this case, nothing) they pay. There's so much creativity and energy in the Colorado theater community...it's a privilege to be able to witness part of it.

Keep up the good work...looking forward to your next chapter!

BillBill Wheelerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16094423709404416194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4682761603405073318.post-3466904627445421152015-01-02T14:34:26.618-07:002015-01-02T14:34:26.618-07:00Bill, thank you so much for nominating our show, L...Bill, thank you so much for nominating our show, Love Marriage and Other Natural Disasters. Janine and I are so grateful and honored to be on your list. Hope to get to meet you next time around. You've given me a lot to think about!

Thanks again for your support and your thoughtful feedback.

Hope to see you at the Mary Miller Theater in 2015!

-MadgeAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14783337321012882916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4682761603405073318.post-19904784542066919052015-01-01T07:21:37.111-07:002015-01-01T07:21:37.111-07:00Madge: I've been seeing show at LTC for sever...Madge: I've been seeing show at LTC for several years now, and I've seen growth in the company and the productions. "The Well of Happiness" is a serious play, put on by dedicated volunteers, and done well. "Shakespeare" was fun...and by that I mean for the audience AND the cast/crew.

I don't know if you remember, but after "Well of Happiness" I contacted you by email (referred by Vonalda) about the title. Your explanation really helped me get to the playwright's message. Lake Dillon Theatre Company does a 20 minute pre-show chat about what the audience will see. Some background about "Well" and a discussion of the show's issues (kids/guns) might be worth doing for the audience. Lake Dillon does it before the show, but most theaters seem to do that as a talk back after the show.

You have connected well with your natural audience in Lafayette; I think the shows this season had something for everyone. Every time I go, I'm pleased to see so few empty seats. You're getting support from the community because you know your audience.

I'm hoping to see continued progress at LTC. It's hard for you guys to get much attention in the cultural abundance of Boulder county. All I've got is a website, but if it helps get the word out for LTC, maybe the Camera and some of the Denver publications will pay more attention. I don't want to mention any of them here, but I'll get in touch with a suggestion about someone who might be able to check out LTC.

I see Springs Ensemble is doing "Dead Man's Cell Phone" this season, after being graciously invited to the LTC production. Collaboration can be a powerful tool. Perhaps a collaboration with Coal Creek someday could draw new customers for both communities.

Just some random thoughts. Probably more than you need...but I'd really like to see LTC move up the cultural ladder. I know the potential and the talent is in place to break out of the pack and become a must see venue.

In any event, best wishes for 2015 and for LTC. See you at the show!

Bill

Bill Wheelerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16094423709404416194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4682761603405073318.post-14330222476175280542014-12-31T23:53:14.473-07:002014-12-31T23:53:14.473-07:00What a delight and an honor to see Well of Happine...What a delight and an honor to see Well of Happiness and William Shakespeare's Land of the Dead on the list.
